Q1. What is the eyelid cream for and how is it different from the Optimel drops?
The drops are instilled into the eye. The cream is applied to the eyelid skin and lid margin, which is a different application area for a different purpose.
The cream targets the outer lid surface and lash line, where dry, flaky or irritated skin is common in conditions like dry eye, blepharitis, and meibomian gland dysfunction. It is not an eye drop.
Q2. How do I apply it?
Clean your lids first, then apply a small amount to the eyelid skin and along the lash line using a clean fingertip or cotton bud.
Do not apply inside the eye. Keep it to the outer lid surface.
Q3. Does it sting like the Optimel eye drops?
Less so, because it is applied externally rather than dropped into the eye. Some people notice mild tingling from the manuka honey, which is normal and short lived.
